Raw Organic Sugar is a coarse, sweet, and soluble carbohydrate with a light to medium brown colour, widely used as a sweetener in various dishes worldwide. Historically, honey was the preferred sweetener until sugar production began in the Indian subcontinent, later spreading to other regions. Made by extracting the juice from sugarcane, its use dates back to ancient India, as recorded in an 8th-century BCE Chinese text. By the 5th century, India pioneered the process of making granulated sugar, originally called 'Khanda'—the root word for 'candy'. Known as Cheeni or Shakkar in Hindi, Khaand in Gujarati, and Panchasara in Malayalam, Raw Organic Sugar remains a natural alternative to refined white sugar.
